It all began at 211 Main Company Bar.

Hi! I'm Cassidy.

If we've met before, there's a good chance it was over a plate of food.

I've spent the last 14 years in the restaurant industry, beginning my journey at 211 Main Company Bar in Port Dover—my family's restaurant. What started as a summer job quickly became a career, and before long I found myself completely immersed in the world of food, hospitality, and community.

Over the years I've worn just about every hat imaginable. I've served tables, tended bar, managed kitchens, created menus, catered weddings, planned events, hired teams, and learned firsthand just how powerful a shared meal can be.

In 2018, I attended George Brown College to continue my culinary education, and later founded Lighthouse Catering Co., where I had the privilege of catering weddings, celebrations, and milestones for so many wonderful people across Norfolk County.

Those years shaped me in more ways than I can count.

But somewhere along the way, my perspective changed.

Becoming a wife, a mother to our daughter Mitchell, and continuing to work alongside my mom and stepdad at 211 reminded me that food has always meant something much bigger than what ends up on a plate.

Food brings people together.

It comforts us after loss.

It celebrates life's biggest moments.

And sometimes...

It simply gets us through the day.

After much thought, I made the decision to retire Lighthouse Catering Co.

Not because I stopped loving food.

Quite the opposite.

I wanted to find a new way to use it.

Welcome to Norfolk Nourishes.

Norfolk Nourishes was created with one simple goal: To make sure no one in our community has to face a difficult day on an empty stomach. Through community donations, volunteers, local businesses, farmers, and neighbours helping neighbours, we'll prepare homemade family meals for anyone who could use a little extra support.

Maybe you've just welcomed a new baby. Maybe you're recovering from surgery.

Maybe you're caring for a loved one.

Maybe life has simply become overwhelming.

Or maybe groceries are just a little harder to afford this month.

Whatever the reason...You deserve a good meal. No judgment. No explanations. Just kindness.

However, this isn't something I can do alone.

Norfolk Nourishes belongs to all of us. Whether you donate ingredients, volunteer for a prep day, sponsor a family meal, or simply help spread the word, you're becoming part of something much bigger than a freezer full of food. You're helping build the kind of community I hope Mitchell grows up in; one where neighbours quietly show up for one another, expecting nothing in return. If together we can make even one family's week a little easier, then every meal we prepare will have been worth it.

Thank you for being here.

Cassidy
